the 25th April, from the Governor of Hong Kong forwarding reports and plans relating to the aerodrome, and to state

that whilst the Council consider that a final opinion on

the proposals of the Hong Kong Government can only be expressed after Mr. Dawson has carefully examined the site,

they are inclined to the view that the lay-out proposed

may require considerable modification.

As regards paragraph 3 of the despatch, I am to

confirm Sir Cecil Clementi's assumption that the cost of any

buildings required for Royal Air Force purposes will be

defrayed by Air Votes.

The Council note that Sir Cecil Clementi will

shortly be visiting England and will be happy to take the opportunity thus afforded for discussing the whole question

with him.

I am,

sir,

Your obedient Servant,

Deal.
